A Magical Week

My first week of official events was quite the busy one. We had three appearances as well as two photo shoots booked for this week. It was a whirl wind time, but here are some of the highlights!

Ariel was able to attend the Loving Local Indie Fair in Langley, BC at the Langley Event Center. What an amazing local fair! The organizers had not only rounded up some of the most talented local artisans, but set up fun activities for children as well. I was so blessed to be counted among those “activities”. I loved getting to paint a certain yellow and blue fish onto the cheeks and hands of many young guests. Another highlight was meeting a young princess who brought her own tiara and a book for the Little Mermaid to sign. She was about to visit a certain well known park, and was excited to see me prior to her trip.

Next up was the Evo Car Share’s sing-a-long presentation of Beauty and the Beast at Second Beach in Vancouver. Beauty had the privilege of being one of the guests of honour. I loved getting to meet guests from around the world. I met a lovely princess all the way from Italy and a dashing prince from Yugoslavia. Both of these royals were given a special gem from Beauty to carry back to their home country. I was also able give a princess named Daniella a birthday surprise she would never forget. Before the movie, I invited the entire crowd of attendees to sing happy birthday to her as she stood up at the front with me. Such a magical moment! Once the movie was set to be shown, Beauty settled down in the crowd behind a friendly young princess named Mavi. We enjoyed chatting about royal balls and parties while peeking between our seats until the movie started.

For our final event, Kara was invited to attend Langley Eats Local at the Langley Community Farmers Market. While there, Kara was allowed to shop for some of the fresh locally grown produce in order to create a healthy snack for the young attendees. I created the Supergirl Fruit Salad, make from locally sourced strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and mint. The snack was a hit! I was also able to meet a baby who sported a sleeper made from the House Zorel symbol. Of course Kara got a photo with the little super hero in training! The market also had very talented local musicians. One young lady, who goes to school in Langley, was a huge Supergirl fan. Right away she ran up to get autographs for herself and three friends. During the conversation, I mentioned my favourite song. This sweet young musician then went to perform the song before Kara had to fly off! While she sang, I was able to dance with the sweetest young girl. It was a moment I will always cherish, as both had the hugest grin on their face when it was all said and done.

This week was so full of magic and whimsy. This journey in a new province has already been so memorable. I can’t wait to see what adventures are around the corner…
